What do I wear for my senior pictures?
Choose three outfits that make you feel great.
- Choose three to four outfits for variety—casual, dressy, and something that tells your personality (Sports, band, activity or your favorite outfit)
- Stick to flattering colors and simple patterns that complement your skin tone.
- Layers, textures, and accessories (hats, jackets, or jewelry) add extra personality.
- Avoid clothing with logos or busy prints that might distract from you!
- Consider the season - Warm colors always look so beautiful with the changing leaves of fall. Soft pastels are gorgeous with the blooming flowers of spring.
When is the best time to take senior photos?
Every season brings something different.
- Summer - Sunshine with sundresses beats the rush of a busy school year
- Fall - Perfect for those loving comfy sweaters, warm tones and colored leaves
- Winter - Perfect time for those have busy schedules and no time during the school year
- Spring - Blooming flowers and bright green leaves accompanied by your cap and gown photos
Can't choose? Some seniors even plan multiple sessions (yes, it’s a thing!) to get different seasonal looks. Like how about a fall outfit session and a spring cap and gown moment. Because why choose when you can have both?
Where is the best place in Chattanooga to have my senior photoshoot?
Here are a few popular locations in Chattanooga that are often recommended:
- Coolidge Park: This park along the Tennessee River offers scenic views, a historic carousel, and vibrant gardens, making it ideal for both natural and urban-inspired photos.
- Downtown Chattanooga: The downtown area with its eclectic mix of historic buildings, colorful murals, and the Walnut Street Bridge offers a variety of urban settings for dynamic and artistic senior portraits.
- Lookout Mountain: Whether at Point Park overlooking the city or along the trails and gardens, Lookout Mountain offers stunning vistas and natural beauty that can create dramatic and memorable senior portraits.
Of course you are not limited to these locations. We have other unique places in the Chattanooga area that would also be beautiful for your senior portraits.
Will you help me pose if I feel awkward?
Most definitely! We will work together to make sure we get your best sides and angles so that you look natural and your very best in your photos. We do this by
- Telling you where to pose and how.
- Showing you a picture example the pose
- Playing a video of the pose
- Sometimes doing the pose myself to show you what to do
Can I include my dog in my graduation pictures?
Your dog (or cat… or hamster… we don’t judge) is totally welcome to join your senior photoshoot. Including your pet is a fun and meaningful way to make your senior pictures even more personal—after all, they’ve been with you through late-night study sessions, snack breaks, and probably a few emotional meltdowns.
We love when seniors bring their furry (or fluffy, or feathery) companions along because they’re part of your story too. Just let us know beforehand and we can work them into your pictures.
When will I get my edited photos?
You are excited to post your pictures to TikTok and Instagram so we want to make this happen as quick as possible for you. Here is the timeline:
- 2 days for 2-3 quick sneak peeks
- 3-5 days or a lightly edited gallery presented at your viewing session
- 2-3 weeks for a completed, fully edited gallery
- 4-6 weeks for product delivery

How long does the senior photoshoot last?
My senior sessions are never rushed.
Most sessions last between 2–3 hours, but I don't watch the clock or end a session simply because we've reached a certain time limit.
Every senior is different. Some warm up in front of the camera right away, while others need a little extra time to relax and feel comfortable. I want your senior to have the freedom to change outfits, visit meaningful locations, and enjoy the experience without feeling hurried.
My goal is simple: to create an enjoyable experience and make sure we capture the images you love, even if that means staying a little longer.
Do I really need a professional senior photographer?
- Senior year is a major milestone - Between college, careers, military service, and life's next adventures, things can change quickly. These portraits will serve as a memory of who your teen is right now before this season changes.
- Most seniors have never done this before - That's why I guide them through the entire experience of what to wear, where to go, how to stand and what to do with their hands so that they can relax and simply be themselves.
- Your teen deserves more than rushed snapshots - A personalized senior session is designed around their personality, interests, and style, creating images that feel genuine and look like them.
- The goal isn't just beautiful photos, it's confidence - There's something special about watching a teen see themselves in a new light and realize they don't have to be a model to look amazing in their pictures.
- These images become more valuable with time - Long after the cap and gown are packed away, you'll still have portraits that remind you of exactly who your teen was during this important chapter of their life.
Can family members be included in the senior photos?
- I always want to make time for a few special pictures with Mom and Dad or the guardian. After all, they’re a big part of the reason your senior has made it to this exciting milestone.
- Your senior session is still centered around your senior. I’ve designed the experience to flow naturally and give your teen the time and attention they deserve, so I don’t want a larger family portion to take away from their special day.
- I’d be happy to schedule a full family session separately. Keeping the two sessions separate allows us to give your family the time and attention they deserve without taking away from your senior’s experience.
- Family sessions are offered at a discounted rate after the senior session has taken place.
